Timberframe Craftsmanship-
Timberframing is an ancient and elegant method of construction in which solid wood timbers are used to form the structural framework of the building. Timberframing is post and beam construction and the timbers are connected by means of wooden joinery techniques such as mortise and tenon, dovetails and scarfs. The connections are secured with hardwood pegs.
Arbor Building Company is an independent Builder/Dealer of Woodhouse, The Timberframe Company. Woodhouse, headquartered in Pennsylvania, is one of the premier designers, engineers and manufacturers of timberframe homes in the country.
With several decades of timberframe experience, Woodhouse has manufactured frames that have been built all over the world. Their frames are cut from southern yellow pine, eastern white pine, red oak, white oak and Douglas fir. Other species are available upon request. Their craftsmanship is superb and their frames are beautifully finished. Woodhouse offers architectural services and provides complete sets of construction plans. The timberframe buildings are enclosed with Murus structural insulated panels.

Log Home Craftsmanship-
Arbor Building Company offers Michigan white cedar log home packages from Rapid River Rustic. Since 1970, Rapid River Rustic has cut and delivered thousands of homes throughout the United States. They offer solid log wall systems of 6” and 8” tongue and groove style as well as half log siding systems for a more traditional wall enclosure. Michigan white cedar logs are highly resistant to insects and the weather elements that normally affect log homes. White cedar also offers a higher r-value of nearly 1.5 per inch.
Rapid River Rustic offers architectural services and provides complete construction drawings.

| Traditional Site Built Craftsmanship-
Arbor Building Company offers superior products and engineered construction of traditional framing components from Barden Homes. Barden is a panelized supplier offering engineered floor, wall and roofing systems. Product selection ranges from I-joist floor systems, 2x6 wall systems and engineered truss roofing systems. Also available from Barden are all the remaining building components such as roofing, siding and exterior trim, windows and doors, interior millwork and doors, cabinets and countertops.
Building components are designed and manufactured by Barden in their two N.Y. facilities and shipped to our building sites for quick assembly. Using this engineered system, a typical home can be rough framed in a matter of a week, eliminating the traditional framing process that often exposes the home to the elements. Material waste is also kept to a minimum since the majority of material is pre cut. The final result is a home manufactured with superior products, constructed in a controlled atmosphere and built on site in a minimum of time. |

Structural Insulated Panel Craftsmanship-
Murus Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) offer a superb method of construction that combines superior strength, resistance to wind load and high energy efficiency. Panels are available with Polyurethane cores in several thicknesses and R Values from 26 to 40. Expanded Polystyrene cores are also available in several thicknesses with R Values from 16 to 45.
Murus panels are manufactured in Pennsylvania and shipped to our building sites for fast and efficient construction. Site material waste is eliminated due to the pre-engineering and pre-cutting of the panels.
During the construction process the panels are foamed to each other, and offer a completely sealed building envelope with no air infiltration. This provides a superior insulation package for your home.

These stunning homes are a design collaborative of modernist architects, superb manufacturing of modern engineered materials along with natural cedar and mahogany details to provide a refreshing style to today’s designs.
Components are manufactured in Massachusetts and shipped to our building sites for efficient construction. This style of architecture offers soaring ceiling lines, large glass walls and lots of natural light. Natural finishes of posts, beams, millwork, cabinets and doors compliment this style and are the perfect blend of warmth and function.
